My first wedding of 2013 will be in The Orangery at Turkey Mill in Maidstone, a beautiful purpose built venue and to say that I’m excited is an understatement! What makes it even more amazing is that the groom, Jim, is a good friend of mine and when he and Laura asked me to be their Turkey Mill Wedding Photographer, I was absolutley thrilled.
As part of my current wedding package I offer an engagement shoot, usually lasting about an hour. I find that this is really useful for getting to know a couple better, and helping them feel more relaxed in front of the camera. For Jim and Laura’s “e-shoot” we went to Bank in Central London, which I thought would make a really interesting and distinctive location. Being a Sunday it was almost deserted which really gave us the opportunity to try alot of different ideas, and we were having such a good time that we decided to head in to town to try a few things in Covent Garden and Leicester Square.
The West End is full of different settings and light sources and to a photographer it’s like being a kid in a sweet shop. I was really happy with the images I managed to capture and the love and affection that Jim and Laura have for each other really shone through. I now can’t wait for March and the chance to photograph them on their wedding day at Turkey Mill.
