A few things about me..

Hello and welcome to my site. If you’re planning on getting married I’d love to show you some of my images, and tell you a bit about my style and approach to contemporary wedding photography.

I’m  currently based in the beautiful village of Chippenham in Cambridgeshire, close to the cities of Cambridge, Ely and Bury St Edmunds. I’ve been shooting weddings for over 5 years now, and you can see my latest work on my blog.

As your wedding photographer I look not only to record the day as it unfolds, but also to employ my  creative vision to produce images that convey drama, romance and style.

Although I now specialise in weddings I started my career as a wildlife photographer and have also covered events for the British Council in Geneva. My work has been published in various magazines, including Country File and Sunday Times Spectrum, and I have won several international awards; most notably SWPP Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2011 and Third Place in the Overall Competition which received 16000+ entries from professional photographers worldwide.

When photographing weddings I love to explore and show the different stories that unfold, and I’m always touched by the raw emotion of the day. Through my style and approach to contemporary wedding photography I’m able to record this, and produce something that will be treasured for years to come. To me that’s a privilege and it’s something that I’m proud of.

It’s why I shoot weddings, and it’s why I’d love to be a part of yours.

Throughout your day you’ll see me employing a range of different styles and techniques to capture and create the best images possible.

This can vary from discreet reportage style wedding photography, where I record moments as they happen, to couple portraits where I’ll take the bride and groom away and create dramatic, stylised images using off camera flash.

The use of light is key to any photographers style and I really believe in using a range of options. It may be video light to create a soft, warm romantic look, a portrait lit with beautiful, clean, natural light or sometimes something completely different, like a lamp or candle.

I also like to look for interesting angles and compositions, and to use a variety of focal lengths ranging from wide, scenic shots to close up, intimate portraits. I always like to try something different at each wedding and I’ll aim to produce shots that no one else has done before.

I want to give you something different and unique, something that really captures the essence of who you are. You can see some the latest wedding s I’ve shot here, on my blog

I like to be at your wedding from start to finish, so I can record everything that happens and tell the story of your day as fully as possible. I’ve been known to do up to 18 hour days, but I guarantee at least an hour and a half before bridal prep is complete until 1 hour after the first dance, and if the parties rocking I’ll often stay later.

I always meet my couples before the wedding, where possible, and preferably at your chosen venue. This gives me a chance to scout out the best locations and more importantly an opportunity to get to know you both. It’s really important that I build up a great rapport with a bride and groom, as on the wedding day it means that everyone is relaxed and this really shows through in the images.

At the wedding I’ll often work with an assistant who helps me with lighting and I offer an option to have a second photographer, who is always an experienced and insured professional. This is a great idea, especially if you want coverage of both the bride and groom getting ready, as on my own this is sometimes not possible, although I’ll always try.

After the wedding I sort through all of the images and select the best. I then edit these to create a consistent, clean and professional look.

I will then select the best and enhance these further in Photoshop to create a signature look and style. These are then presented to you via a password protected gallery with digital download and backed up on USB. If you want to have an album I currently design and supply these on request from the beautiful Sim Imaging range.

One rule I always work to. It’s your wedding day and if you’re not completely happy with something I want to know. Likewise, if you’ve looked at my site and there’s something you want that I don’t provide, tell me. The bottom line is that I want to create images and albums that make you and your wedding day look amazing. I want to enhance your day by making sure you are confident, relaxed and happy with the way I work and I want you to have photographs that you will treasure for the rest of your lives.
